Many people have an Imposter they create to present to the world in order to hide their authentic Self. They do this because they don’t want to be seen, or discovered, for fear they will be rejected or judged as not enough. So they hide themselves and play a character.

Depression is your body saying, I don’t want to be this character anymore, I don’t want to hold up this avatar you’ve created in the world, its too much for me. You should think of the word “Depressed” as “Deep Rest” your body needs deep rest from the character you’ve been trying to play. ~ Jim Carrey
